My rants on the state of the union.

I'd like to examine what past Presidents of the United States had to say about money and banking.  In these serious and trying times for America with its seeming financial collaspe, it's important to know what other respected leaders of our country had to say.

Here's what they said...

Banking institutions, paper money, and paper speculation are capable of undermining the nation's stability and could be a danger in time of war. The Constitution does not empower the Congress to establish a National Bank. Rather than trust the nation's currency to private hands, the circulating medium should be restored to the nation itself to whom it belongs.

-President Thomas Jefferson

Put down all banks, admit none but a metallic circulation that will take its proper level with the like circulation in other countries, and then our manufacturers may work in fair competition with those of other countries, and the import duties which the government may lay for the purposes of revenue will so far place them above equal competition.

-President Thomas Jefferson

I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the Bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the Bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out and, by the Eternal, (bringing his fist down on the table) I will rout you out.

-President Andrew Jackson

It is maintained by some that the bank is a means of executing the constitutional power “to coin money and regulate the value thereof.” Congress have established a mint to coin money and passed laws to regulate the value thereof. The money so coined, with its value so regulated, and such foreign coins as Congress may adopt are the only currency known to the Constitution. But if they have other power to regulate the currency, it was conferred to be exercised by themselves, and not to be transferred to a corporation. If the bank be established for that purpose, with a charter unalterable without its consent, Congress have parted with their power for a term of years, during which the Constitution is a dead letter. It is neither necessary nor proper to transfer its legislative power to such a bank, and therefore unconstitutional.

-President Andrew Jackson

We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing its end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood... It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless.

-President Abraham Lincoln

I dare say that President Lincoln's suspicons were not groundless.

And lastly, albeit not on the subject of banking, from our former President...

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...

-Thomas Jefferson

Can you elaborate on what you think? I just want to get an idea of what your opinion is on this.

Can you elaborate on what you think? I just want to get an idea of what your opinion is on this.

I think that the current banking system was intentionally designed to destory America; to allow us to be fed upon by the greedy and legally permit theft and promote corruption.

Let's face facts here:  all memebers of the current government, corporations and we as a people are beholden to this nebulous enterprise called banking; and remember the golden rule:  those who have the gold make the rules.  Banking is run by very few people at the top and is designed to make those few who create the currency (or medium of exchange) exceptionally rich while robbing the rest of us blind with taxation, fees, interest, and other creative ways to suck our life's blood due to our ignorance because of our lack of education.  It doesn't matter to them what laws are passed for they don't care; they have their own law that they follow.

When you borrow, say, $1000.00 from a bank what do you do with it?  I'll hazard a guess here and say you spend it somewhere.  So, you take your $1000.00 to Home Depot or Target (or both) and spend the money on a project or to buy a new TV or whatever floats your boat.  Additionally you also pay a premium to the city, county, and state governments known as a sales tax (but that's another story).  Next, what does Home Depot or Target do with your money (less the taxes)?  They deposit it into another (or the same) bank.  Then what does that bank do with Home Depot's or Target's money (which was yours which they gave you)?  They loan it back out again at interest to someone else which happens over and over and over again many times over.

Perhaps this is an oversimplified example, but I think it drives the point home that we are playing the losing game here.  Just as some of our former presidents stated, these instituions are meant to harm us from within by praying on our prejudices, fears, and human nature to make them the master and us the servent.
